peels and minimally invasive procedures

There are almost as many superficial cosmetic treatments for your skin as there are stars in the sky and the number is increasing all the time.

What exactly does "minimally invasive" mean?

These procedures are not breaking the surface of the skin and as a result you have less downtime.  The trick is that because they are less invasive and cost less, some have better results than others.  A lot of what I plan to focus on with the information here is what is actually making a difference vs what is only feeling good temporarily.

What are some of the treatments that are minimally invasive?

IPL (intense pulsed light) is one of the forefronts of non-invasive cosmetic procedures.  It has been around and doing impressive results since FDA approval in 1995.  Since then, it has been perfected to resolve brown spots, sun damage and telangiectasia without even breaking the surface of the skin. I was lucky enough to be involved with using some of the first IPL devices that were available in the late 1990s.  And I still use IPL today with incredible resolution of sun damage and telangiectasia on the face, neck and chest.  It actually is one of my most favorite treatments because of the great results with such little down time.

Chemical peels and microdermabrasion can renew skin that is tired, dull-looking, or damaged. You can emerge with smoother, softer and healthier-looking skin.

Other procedures in this category include microneedling, hydrafacials and dermaplaning among many others.

While most of these are excellent technologies, it is important to remember that the biggest impact on your results with these procedures relies on the competence of your provider.
