Wear sunscreen in the winter, especially in the snow!

It’s easy to forget when the days are short and chilly.  But remembering your SPF in the winter is just as important as during those warm summer days...maybe even more important!

Do you know how much the sun reflects on the snow?!  Check this out:

Grass, soil and water reflect less than 10% of UV radiation

Sand reflects about 15%

Sea foam reflects 25%

Snow almost doubles your UV exposure - that's an almost 100% increase in UV radiation!

So when hitting the slopes, apply before and don’t forget to keep a small tube or stick of sunscreen in your pocket for reapplication.

Here are some sunscreens that I like:

This one is what I put on first thing before skiing

It is so light that it doesn't feel like you have sunscreen on!

This stick is great for carrying in your ski jacket or out on the sledding hill.

This one is for anyone who doesn’t like that sticky sunscreen feel. It is the best for reapplication.

Now you can have fun in the snow with good sun protection!
